Former Kentucky shortstop and Lexington native Brooke Marnitz and the Washington Glory recently claimed the 2007 National Pro Fastpitch League Championship title in Kimberly, Wisc. The Glory knocked off the Rockford Thunder 3-1 in the championship contest.

Washington, who was an expansion team in the league, was the top NPF team all season long. The Glory won the regular season title with a record of 34-10 and followed that up by going 3-0 in the postseason.

?The Kentucky Softball family is very happy for Brooke and the Glory?s amazing accomplishment,? said head coach Rachel Lawson. ?UK couldn?t be more proud to call Brooke one of our own.?
