The University of Kentucky track and field team finished the second day ofthe 72nd Annual Texas Relays with two Wildcats passing their personal bestmarks.

Shevan Threats added more than three feet onto her former triple jumpdistance, capturing first place by more than seven inches with her leap of42 feet, nine-and-a-half inches.

While Jamie Shannon’s new personal best of 191-11.00 didn’t win firstplace, it did earn him eighth in the hammer throw competition. Histeammate Matt Kavanagh nabbed sixth place with his toss of 204-01.00.

Beth Burkett finished in eight place in the javelin competition with herthrow of 134-03.00, and Scott Theis placed eighth in the shot putcompetition with his toss of 54-01.25.

The final day of the relays will begin tomorrow at 10 a.m.
