As a team, the Cats did not fare as well, finishing tied for last in the18-team tournament. The Cats have been bitten by the injury bug of late, and were forced to play the event with only four golfers as opposed to thetraditional five. As a result, all four scores count and the Cats do nothave the luxury of dropping the highest score.
UK’s team total of 902 placed them in a tie with Virginia Tech for 17th,36 strokes behind champion Alabama.
The golf Cats return to the links April 2-3, when they host the14th-annual Johnny Owens Classic at Kearney Hills Links here in Lexington.
