No. 7 Kentucky Plays at Western Kentucky on Wednesday
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 7 Kentucky Softball team will travel to Bowling Green on Wednesday evening for a 7 p.m. ET showdown with in-state rival Western Kentucky. The game will be streamed on Facebook Live through the Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network and live stats will be available on UKathletics.com.
This game was originally scheduled to take place one week ago on March 17, however weather in the area forced the postponement of the game to Wednesday, where UK will visit WKU.
Kentucky is No. 7 in both major polls this week, sporting a 23-2 record on the year with an RPI of 28 that was just released Tuesday morning. The Wildcats are 1-2 in the Southeastern Conference with a win over No. 5 Florida and UK is hosting No. 4/3 Alabama over the weekend at John Cropp Stadium.
Western Kentucky is also off to a very strong start to its 2021 season having won 14 of its first 18 games of the season and appeared at No. 66 in the first release of the RPI on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers are coming off of a weekend three-game sweep of the UAB Blazers and are 5-0 at home this season.
Kentucky leads the all-time series with WKU 16-7, but looking to avenge a loss to the Hilltoppers the last time the teams met, it 2019 at John Cropp Stadium.
