Kentucky Rises to No. 12 in Both Major Polls, 10 SEC Teams Ranked

LEXINGTON, Ky. – After one week of action, the Kentucky Softball team moved up one spot in both major polls and now sits in the No. 12 position in both national rankings for week two.
 
Kentucky started the season at No. 13 in both the NFCA/USA Today and USA Softball/ESPN.com top-25 rankings. On opening weekend, Kentucky went 3-0 with a three-game series sweep of Samford in Birmingham, Alabama.
 
The Southeastern Conference continues to dominate the national rankings, sporting nine teams in the coaches’ poll, and 10 teams in the media poll.
 
Kentucky Softball is back in action on Friday for a doubleheader at UNC-Greensboro beginning at 2 p.m. ET and game two to follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
