2001 – Came off the bench in seven games for the Wildcats as a true freshman… First collegiate action came in UK’s 1-0 loss to the 20th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs… Took her first shot on goal as a Wildcat in the Cats’ 2-1 overtime setback at Mississippi State.

Pre-College – 1997 ODP Regional Pool Team… 1996 Regional Pool… 1996 and 1997 ODP State Team… Club team is Javanon 83 girls, coached by Ali Malaekeh… Club’s Most Valuable Player and most goals scored in 1995… Oldham County Most Explosive Player in 1997… Two-time varsity captain (1999, 2000) and four-year varsity starter at Oldham County… Selected first-team All-State in 2000… Holds high school’s single season record for assists with 35… Finished career at Oldham County with 33 goals and 72 asists.

Personal – Full name is Tara Lee Weatherford…Born March 9, 1983… Parents are Terry Weatherford and Lauren Barber… Chose UK because of the chance to win a national championship and to attain her goals of playing for a national team and playing professionally … Chose the Wildcats over Ole Miss and Louisville.
