2008 (Freshman): Redshirted … Earned Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week prior to the win over Western Kentucky.

High School: Big, athletic tight end … Four-year starter for Mandarin HS in Jacksonville, Fla. … As a senior, caught 32 passes for 426 yards and four touchdowns … Snagged 33 passes his junior season, good for 333 yards … Two-year member of the all-conference team … Team captain as a junior and senior … Listed as the nation’s No. 31 tight end by Scout.com … Selected to play in the Florida North-South All-Star Game but was unable to participate because of an injury … Nominated for the U.S. Army All-America Game … Coached by Luther Price and the late J. D.
