2012-13 (Junior): Competed in all 12 tournaments for UK during the year with three top-20 finishes … Twenty-seven of his 33 rounds played counted toward the team score (82 percent) … Best finish came at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate where he placed tied for 12th at 2-over-par … Had a string of three-straight top-20 finishes at the Saint Mary’s Invitational (T17), Jack Nicklaus Invitational (T14) and the Querencia Cabo Collegiate … Fired a season-best round of 18 in the final round of the Saint Mary’s Invitational with a 4-under-par, 68 en route to a season-low 54-hole score of 219 … Wrapped up the season with a 76.36 stroke average.
Summer 2012: Qualified for the 2012 U.S. Amateur … Finished in third place at the Kentucky Open
2011-12 (Sophomore): Started in every tournament … Had the lowest scoring average on the team, shooting 73.18 on the year … Led the team with a dozen rounds of even- or under-par … Had six top-20 finishes, including three top-five finishes … Finished in second-place at the UK Bluegrass Fall Invitational, and tied for fourth at the Marshall Invitational and Inverness Intercollegiate … Shot a career-low round of 5-under-par 66 in the second round of the Marshall Invitational … Twenty-eight of his 33 rounds played counted toward the team score (85 percent) … Was UK’s top finisher in five tournaments.
2010-11 (Freshman): Started to show his potential in the final half of the season, finishing as UK’s top golfer in three of the six spring events … His impressive spring began in the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, where he finished tied for fourth for his best career finish … Played as an individual in the event, posting a 1-over par 73 the first two rounds and concluded the tournament with a 1-under par 71 en route to the top-five finish … Continued to strike the ball well in UK’s next three events, ending as UK’s best golfer in all three tournament with top-25 finishes in the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate and the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate … Best round of the year was in the Hootie with a second round of 3-under par 68 … Ended the season with a 75.50 season stroke average, which ranked him fifth on the team.
Summer 2010: Finished fifth in the Kentucky State Amateur with solid rounds of 67 to begin the tournament and 68 to conclude the tournament … Also played in the Kentucky Open, scroing a three-day total of 220 to finish 22nd.
2009-10: Redshirt Season
Summer 2009: Finished tied for 26th at the Kentucky Am … Finished in second place at the Kentucky Junior Amateur in an attempt to win back-to-back titles … Qualified for the second stage of the U.S. Open … Finished tied for sixth overall at the Kentucky Open and second in the amateur division with an impressive 221 for the 54-hole tournament.
High School: Earned five golf letters at Ryle High School playing under “Wild” Bill Turner … Finished first in the Tom Johnson Invitational with a low score of 67 in 2007 and finished second in 2008 … Played in the Steve Flesch Invitational in 2007 and 2008, placing second both times with a 73 in 2007 and 72 in 2008 … Had first-place finishes in his high school conference his junior and senior seasons … Placed second in the regional tournament with a 74 in 2007 and third in 2008 with an 81 … Finished 18th at the state tournament in 2007 … Member of the All-State team his junior season … Finished first in the Kentucky Junior-Am in 2008 and second in the Hudson Junior Invitational … In 2008, finished first in the PGA Jr. Series at Keith Hills CC and in the U.S. Junior Qualifier … Was on the Academic Honor Roll all four years of high school … Was a member of the National Honors Society, Math Honors Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Future Business Leaders of America.
