Kentucky STUNT Wins Twice in Mid America West Tournament

MARTIN, Tenn. – The Kentucky STUNT team won a pair of games in the Mid America West Tournament on Saturday, topping Mercyhurst 31-9 and Missouri State 35-12.

Kentucky (28-2) won its 19th consecutive game and now advances to Sunday’s championship game where the Cats will meet the winner of the remaining teams. The exact opponent will be determined in earlier games on Sunday.

Against Mercyhurst, the Cats jumped out to an early lead by scoring six points in the first quarter, partner stunts, compared to two for the Lakers. In quarter two, pyramids and tosses, UK took four points to none for Mercyhurst, giving the Cats a 10-2 lead at the half.

In quarter three, jumps and tumbling, Kentucky again took four points to one to lead 14-3 heading to the fourth quarter. In that final stanza, team routine, UK took 17 points compared to six for the Lakers.

Against Missouri State, Kentucky grabbed the lead on the first routine and never looked back. UK earned five points in the first quarter, compared to one for Missouri State. In the second quarter, the Cats claimed six points compared to three for the Bears.

Quarter three saw Kentucky win eight points, while Missouri State earned four. And in the final quarter, UK earned 16 points, while Missouri State claimed four.
