Kentucky STUNT Wins Two More in Coast to Coast Showdown
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky STUNT team finished its regular season on Saturday, winning two more games in the Coast to Coast Showdown at Historic Memorial Coliseum.
Kentucky (26-2) topped South Carolina 23-0 in the first contest of the day, then finished off the perfect weekend by holding off Jessup 29-27.
In game one, Kentucky jumped ahead of South Carolina early and never looked back. The Cats took all four points in the first quarter, partner stunts, then did the same in quarter two, pyramids and tosses. UK had an 8-0 lead at the half.
Quarter three saw Kentucky extend the lead, again earning all four points in the jumps and tumbling portion of the game to take a 12-0 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, team routine, UK earned 11 points to close out the win.
Against Jessup, Kentucky found itself behind early, as the Warriors claimed six points, compared to four for the Cats. UK drew closer in the second quarter, earning five points compared to just four for Jessup. Still, the Warriors led 10-9 at halftime.
The third quarter was tight, but the Cats were able to claim five points while Jessup earned just four, meaning the game was tied going into the final stanza.
There, Kentucky was able to earn 15 points while Jessup claimed 13, giving the Cats the two-point margin of victory.
Kentucky returns to action in the Mid America West Conference Tournament April 10-12 in Martin, Tennessee. The pairings were not available at the time of this release.
