Kentucky Women’s Golf Begins Play at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team will compete at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Golf Club (par 71, 6,378) in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, March 2-4. It is the team’s third event of the spring season.
The Wildcats will tee off in the first round Monday at 10:20 a.m. ET on hole No. 10, paired with Duke and Vanderbilt.
The Golf Channel will air the event live each day from 2:30-5:30 p.m. ET. This is the fifth consecutive year of partnership between the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate and Golf Channel.
Kentucky will be competing alongside 16 other teams, including 11 teams in the top 25 and four teams in the top 10. Those teams include Alabama, No. 23 Arizona, No. 21 Arizona State, No. 8 Arkansas, No. 5 Auburn, No. 12 Duke, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, No. 20 Northwestern, Ohio State, No. 15 Ole Miss, host No. 18 South Carolina, No. 9 Texas, No. 14 Vanderbilt and No. 6 Wake Forest.
The Wildcats will sport a familiar lineup, including Cathryn Brown, Raleygh Simpson, Anastasia Hekkonen, Karlie Campbell and C.A. Carter. The Cats have used that lineup four times this season, which racked up three finishes inside the top three on team leaderboards.
Cathryn Brown leads the team on a 71.7 stroke average through 17 rounds this season. The junior from Eddyville, Kentucky, has four finishes inside the top 10 on individual leaderboards this season, while she also is leading the team with 21 straight rounds contributed toward the team total.
The field can expect sunny skies throughout the tournament, with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 60s.

UK has played in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate for the last four straight seasons. Last year, UK finished in 17th place on a 912 (+60).
