Kentucky STUNT Splits Two Games in Dallas on Saturday

DALLAS – The Kentucky STUNT team won one game and lost another on Saturday in the Dallas Baptist STUNT Tournament. UK fell to California Baptist 35-15, but bounced back to top Oklahoma State 28-19.

In the first contest of the day, Kentucky faced the five-time defending national champions, CBU. The Lancers took the lead in the first period, partner stunts, outscoring the Cats 5-1. CBU extended its lead in the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, and took a 12-4 lead into the half.

The third quarter, jumps and tumbling, saw the Lancers extend their lead to 17-6. In the final quarter, team routine, UK was able to score nine points, but CBU scored 18 to close out the game.

Kentucky faced Oklahoma State in game two of the day. UK won the first point, then OSU won the second. The Cats went ahead on the third routine and led 4-2 after the first quarter. Kentucky extended its lead in the second quarter and took a 10-7 lead into halftime.

The Cats continued to stretch the lead in the third quarter, claiming five points to just three for OSU. UK led 15-10 after three quarters. Kentucky put the game away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Oklahoma State 13-9.

Kentucky returns to action on Saturday, facing Quincy and Texas A&M-Kingsville in San Antonio.
