Kentucky STUNT Wins Twice on Friday
DALLAS – The Kentucky STUNT team won two games on Friday in the Dallas Baptist STUNT Tournament. The Cats blanked Missouri State 23-0, then knocked off previously unbeaten Hope International University 29-22.
In game one, the Cats took control of the game right away. UK won all four points in the first quarter, partner stunts, then did the same in quarter two, pyramids and tosses. Kentucky held an 8-0 lead at the half.
The third quarter, jumps and tumbling, saw Kentucky claim four more points to build the lead to 12-0. In the final period, the Cats outscored the Bears 11-0 to provide the final margin of victory.
Kentucky (9-1) faced unbeaten Hope International University in the second game of the day, and the game was close throughout. In quarter one, both the Cats and the Royals earned four points. Quarter two saw the lead go back and forth between the teams, but at halftime, the game was tied 10-10.
The Cats were able to create a little breathing room in the third quarter, winning five points compared to just two for the Royals. UK took a 15-12 lead into the final stanza. In the final period, Kentucky outscored Hope 14-10 to seal the victory.
Kentucky returns to action on Saturday, facing California Baptist at 4 p.m. and Oklahoma State at 5 p.m.
