Kentucky STUNT Splits Pair of Games on Saturday
SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Kentucky STUNT team finished play in Oklahoma on Saturday, topping Michigan State 28-15 before falling to Oklahoma Baptist 29-26.
In game one, the Cats grabbed an early lead and never looked back against Michigan State. In the first quarter, partner stunts, UK outscored MSU 4-2. In quarter two, pyramids and tosses, the Cats earned six points while the Spartans captured three. UK led 10-5 at the half.
Quarter three saw the Cats earning five points while the Spartans got three. Kentucky led 15-8 with one period remaining. In that final stanza, UK earned 13 points while Michigan State got just seven.
In game two, the Cats faced Oklahoma Baptist, the second-ranked Division II team in the country. After a tie on the first routine, the Bison outscored UK 5-2 the rest of the way and OBU led 6-3 after one quarter. Kentucky tightened the score in quarter two, earning five points while OBU claimed four. The Bison led 10-8 at halftime.
The third quarter was even, with both teams earning five points, meaning that Oklahoma Baptist took a 15-13 lead into the final period. The final quarter was very tight, but OBU claimed 14 points, while UK earned 13, giving the Bison a 29-26 victory.
Kentucky returns to action on Friday, Feb. 20, facing Missouri State and Hope International in Dallas.
