Kentucky STUNT Opens Season With Doubleheader Sweep

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky STUNT team opened its 2026 season with a pair of wins in the Bluegrass Classic at Historic Memorial Coliseum.

Kentucky opened the day with a 30-9 win over Ashland University, and followed that with a 33-25 win over Alma College.

In the first quarter against Ashland, partner stunts, Kentucky claimed the first two points, both within two deductions, to take a 4-2 lead. The Cats would claim the final two points of the quarter and would lead 6-2 after one stanza.

Kentucky continued to roll in quarter two, pyramids and tosses. The Cats won the first point, won the second and third points within two deductions, then won the final point outright to take an 11-4 lead into the half.

In the third quarter, jumps and tumbling, the teams tied on the first routine and Kentucky won the second point. UK won the third point, within two deductions, and took the fourth point outright to take a 16-6 lead.

The Cats finished off the victory in quarter four, team routine, by outscoring the Eagles 14-3.

Against Alma, Kentucky was able to take the lead on the second routine of the first quarter and never look back. UK led 4-2 after the first quarter, then led 11-6 at the half.

In the third quarter, the Cats were able to extend the lead by outscoring Alma 7-5. Kentucky would put the game away in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Scots 15-14.

Kentucky returns to action on Monday in the final day of the Bluegrass Classic. The Cats will face Mercyhurst at 3:45 p.m. UK will then face Northern Kentucky at 5 p.m.
