Blue Team Wins UK STUNT Blue/White Scrimmage on Friday

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky STUNT team held its annual Blue-White scrimmage on Friday inside Historic Memorial Coliseum, with the Blue team earning a 23-22 win over the White squad.

In the first quarter, partner stunts, the Blue team earned the first point, within two deductions, to lead 2-1. The Blue team won the second point, then won the third within two deductions to lead 5-2. The White team won the final routine, within two, to make it 6-4 Blue after one quarter.

Quarter two, pyramids and tosses, saw the White team get off to a fast start. The White team won the first point, took the second routine within two deductions and won the third routine outright. The Blue team salvaged the final routine, within two, to tie the score at 9-9 after two quarters.

In the third quarter, jumps and tumbling, the Blue team won the first two points to take an 11-9 lead. The White team won the third routine, then won the fourth routine within two deductions to tie the score at 12-12 through three quarters.

The final period, team routine, started with the teams each taking two points on the first routine. On routine two, the White team took four points, compared to three for the Blue squad. On routine three, the Blue team won four points while the White claimed three, tying the game with one routine remaining.

In the final routine, the Blue team claimed two points to just one for the White, securing the game by a single point.

Kentucky begins its regular season on Feb. 1, hosting the Bluegrass Classic at Historic Memorial Coliseum. The Cats face Ashland at 10:15 a.m. before playing Alma at 12:30 p.m.
