Wildcats Set to Host First Outdoor Meet of 2025 at Jim Green Invitational
LEXINGTON, Ky. – In what will be the start of a two meet homestand, the Wildcats are set to host the Jim Green Invitational this weekend at the UK Track and Field Outdoor Facility in Lexington, Ky.
This weekend’s event will feature as the first outdoor meet in Lexington in 2025 for the Wildcats. Kentucky will also play host to the 2025 SEC Outdoor Championships at the UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex on May 15-17.
Kentucky will welcome in-state programs Bellarmine, Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky State, Louisville, Morehead State, Transylvania, Union and Western Kentucky to Lexington this weekend for the two-day meet. Other programs competing include Butler, Harvard, Indiana, Michigan State, Penn State and Purdue.
Last weekend, the Cats traveled to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays where they totaled five event wins, along with a world-best time in the women’s shuttle hurdles relay (54.31). The Wildcats also posted the NCAA’s fourth-best mark in the women’s 4x200m relay event, finishing atop the leaderboard at 1:34.45.
The Jim Green Invitational will kick off tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. EST, beginning with the women’s 100m hurdles. Friday’s event will conclude with the men’s 3000m steeplechase at 6:45 p.m. EST.
