Kentucky STUNT Finishes as National Runner-Up

NASHVILLE – The Kentucky STUNT team’s season came to an end on Friday, with the Cats finishing as national runner-up for the third consecutive season.

Kentucky (29-3) played two games on Friday. In the opener, the Cats faced Mercyhurst, with a spot in the championship game on the line. UK jumped out to an early lead, claiming all four points in the first quarter, partner stunts. In quarter two, pyramids and tosses, UK again claimed all four points and the Cats led 8-0 at halftime.

In quarter three, jumps and tumbling, UK extended its lead by claiming all four points. The Cats led 12-0 with one period remaining. In the fourth quarter, team routine, the Cats sealed the win by claiming three points on the first routine to just one for Mercyhurst.

Kentucky made its way to the championship game, where the Cats faced four-time defending national champion California Baptist. The teams tied the first routine before CBU won the second. After another tie, the Lancers took the final point of the quarter and led 4-2.

In the second quarter, CBU won the first point before the teams tied the second routine. After the Lancers won the third point, UK took the final point of the period. Still, CBU led 7-4 at the half.

Quarter three saw UK take the first point, before the teams tied the final three routines. California Baptist led 10-8 heading to the final stanza. In the fourth quarter, UK was able to claim five points, but it was not enough as CBU won 17-13.

It was a record-breaking season for the Kentucky STUNT program in 2025. The Cats set a new school record for most wins (29), longest winning streak (19) and seven perfect games.
