LEXINGTON, Ky. — Zoe Hammond of Kentucky women’s tennis has been named the 2025 Women’s Tennis Southeastern Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year, as announced today.
Zoe Hammond exemplifies the ideal Scholar Athlete of the Year through her exceptional achievements both academically and athletically, as well as in the community. As a junior at the University of Kentucky, she has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while pursuing a degree in economics. Zoe will receive her degree in three years, planning to utilize her fourth year to explore Public Policy & Administration graduate degree.
Her dedication to academics earned her a spot on the 2024 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll. She also has spent 42.5 hours this year serving the Lexington community. On the tennis court, Hammond has been a formidable competitor on court one in singles, securing a career-high ITA singles ranking of No. 39 and beating three top 25 opponents this season. Hammond’s unwavering commitment to excellence in both her studies and sport underscores her deserving candidacy for this prestigious honor.
Hammond looks to improve her athletic resume even further this week as the women’s tennis team begins play at the SEC Tournament.
