Kentucky STUNT Opens Season With Doubleheader Sweep

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky STUNT team opened its 2025 season by sweeping a pair of games in the Bluegrass Classic inside Historic Memorial Coliseum. UK topped Trevecca Nazarene 23-2 in game one before blanking UT Martin 24-0 in game two.

In STUNT, a 24-0 win is known as a perfect game, and Saturday’s perfect effort was the third such game in UK program history. Kentucky’s previous perfect games came in 2023 against Tiffin and last season against UT Martin.

In game one, Kentucky took control early against Trevecca Nazarene and never looked back. In the first quarter, partner stunts, the Cats took all four points, building an early lead. In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, Kentucky won the first three points before Trevecca Nazarene got on the board. UK led 7-1 at halftime.

The third quarter, jumps and tumbling, saw the Cats extend the lead. Kentucky earned four points in the quarter, compared to just one for TNU. In the fourth quarter, team routine, UK put the game away by winning all 12 points.

In game two, Kentucky again grabbed an early lead. The Cats took all four points in the first quarter against UT Martin and did the same in the second quarter, building an 8-0 lead in the process.

The Cats were able to stretch the lead in the third quarter, earning all four points in jumps and tumbling to make it 12-0. UK finished off the perfect game by earning all 12 points in the team routines in the fourth quarter.

Kentucky returns to action on Sunday on the final day of the Bluegrass Classic. The Cats will face Mercyhurst at 3 p.m. UK will then face Northern Kentucky at 4 p.m.
