White Team Wins Kentucky STUNT Blue/White Scrimmage on Saturday

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky STUNT team held its annual Blue-White scrimmage on Saturday inside Historic Memorial Coliseum, with the White team earning a 17-15 win over the Blue squad.

In the first quarter, partner stunts, the Blue team earned the first point, and the two teams each won a point on the second routine. The White team claimed the final two points of the period and took a 3-2 lead.

Quarter two, pyramids and tosses, started with another point for the White team. The second routine was tied before the White team won routine three. The teams tied the final routine of the quarter and the White team held a 7-4 lead at halftime.

In the third quarter, jumps and tumbling, the Blue team rallied, scoring the first two points of the period to make it 7-6. After the teams tied the third routine of the period, the Blue team took the final point and the game was tied 8-8 heading into the final stanza.

The final period, team routine, started with the White team taking three points on the first routine compared to just one for the Blue. The second routine produced two points for both teams, and the White team held a 13-11 lead. The third and fourth routines produced two points for each team, and the White team held on for the win.

Kentucky begins its regular season on Feb. 1, hosting the Bluegrass Classic at Historic Memorial Coliseum. The Cats face Trevecca Nazarene at 2 p.m., followed by a contest against UT Martin at 3 p.m.
