DaRoyce Flemons, Alysia Johnson to Participate in SEC Career Tour

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A pair of Wildcats—DaRoyce Flemons and Alysia Johnson—have been selected to participate in the ninth annual SEC Career Tour, held in Atlanta from December 3-5. Held in the leadup to the SEC Football Championship Game, Flemons and Johnson will be among 31 student athletes from all 16 conference institutions participating in the event.

The goal of the career tour is to provide exposure for SEC student-athletes who are seeking career opportunities in various fields. The program allows student-athletes to connect with human resource recruiters and submit resumes for jobs and gain valuable knowledge of professional branding.

The group is scheduled to visit the headquarters and meet with executives at several corporations and organizations in the Atlanta area including Mercedes Benz Stadium, Metro Atlanta Chamber, One Digital, Southern Company and Porsche North America.

Flemons, a graduate student from Paducah, Ky., is a thrower on the Kentucky Track & Field team. Over the past two seasons, Flemons has competed in the indoor weight throw, the hammer throw, and the discus throw for the Wildcats, including a third-place finish in the weight throw at the 2023 Indiana Early Bird Meet and a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw at the 2023 Jim Green Invitational. Flemons graduated in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and is currently pursuing his master’s. In his undergraduate career, Flemons earned SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll honors in 2021, as well as SEC Spring Academic Honor Rolls honors in 2022 and 2024.

Johnson, a fifth year from Durham, North Carolina, is a sprinter for Kentucky Track & Field, focusing primarily on the 400m. She is entering her second season as a Wildcat, transferring from South Carolina in the summer of 2023. As a Gamecock, Johnson was a three-time All-American in the Indoor 4x400m relay. A Communications major, Johnson has earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll in every year of her academic career, earning a spot on the First-Year honor roll in 2021 and 2024 in addition to Spring honors in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, Johnson was also named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete.

The 31 student-athletes will begin the three-day event at the site of the SEC Championship Game where they will meet with Mercedes-Benz Stadium staff and take a tour of the facility. Also included on the agenda during the week is a visit with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey and executive coaching by Randy Hain, founder and president of Servian Partners and co-founder of the Leadership Foundry.
