Kentucky Swim and Dive’s Caue Gluck Wins Two Medals at South American Championships
CALI, Colombia – Freshman Caue Gluck earned two medals for Brazil at the 2024 South American Swimming Championships this past week. The new Wildcat first earned gold for his home nation in the 800-meter freestyle relay followed by a bronze medal in the 400-meter freestyle final. The medals are the first in Gluck’s career.
Gluck and Brazil won the relay with a final time of 7:25.53. Gluck was the first to compete in the relay getting his squad off to a 1:51.45 start. Gluck also swam a 3:57.94 in the 400 freestyle to finish third overall. In addition, Gluck placed fourth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.06 earning Brazil more championship points.
Brazil swept the competition with a combined score of 552 points. The men’s team tallied 272 points to the women’s 262 points for the victory.
