No. 16 Kentucky Set to Host No. 15 Louisville Monday

LEXINGTON, Ky. – No. 16 Kentucky men’s soccer (1-1-1) is set to host No. 15 Louisville (3-1, 0-1 ACC) on Monday for a 7:30 p.m. EST battle at The Bell Soccer Complex.

Both the Wildcats and Cardinals enter the contest looking for redemption after recording their first losses of the fall. Kentucky fell to No. 10 Wisconsin on Friday, 0-1, while Louisville began conference play with a 1-2 loss against Notre Dame.

The long-time in-state rivalry between the men’s soccer programs dates back to 1979. UK came out on top 4-0 in enemy territory. Since then, the two programs have faced off 38 times holding an all-time series record of 18-15-5 UK. The last meeting on the pitch resulted in a 2-4 Kentucky loss on the road. However, the last time the Cats and Cards played at The Bell was in 2022 where UK claimed the victory, 3-2.

Fans are encouraged to Pack The Bell in blue on Monday with the chance to enter a giveaway for a PlayStation 5 console. Food trucks will also be set up inside the concourse for fans to enjoy before and during the match.
