UKTF Wildcats and Alumni to Compete at U.S. Olympic Trials

EUGENE, Ore. – The Kentucky track and field program will be well represented this week at the 2024 United States Olympic Team Trials held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon from Friday, June 21 to Sunday, June 30th.

A combined 19 athletes, 13 alumni, and five current Wildcats will all fight for the chance to represent the United States in Paris. In addition to those UKTF athletes, volunteer coach Ronnie Baker will compete as well in the 10-day event for a chance to make Team USA for the 2024 Summer Olympics held in Paris, France in August.

The top three finishers in each event, so long as they have met the Olympic qualifying standard established by World Athletics, will automatically earn a spot on Team USA for the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Olympic team trials and their equivalent meetings are taking place across the world in the upcoming days and weeks as nations begin to finalize their 2024 Olympic rosters. Current Wildcat Alex Chukwukelu participated in his first Nigerian Olympic Trails over the past weekend winning the 110-meter hurdles on Monday and will compete at the African Athletics Championships this week.

Volunteer coach Devynne Charlton will participate in the Bahamian Olympic Trials on June 26-28. All-Americans Luke Brown (triple jump) & Oneika McAnnuff (400m) are set to compete at the Jamaica Olympic Trials June 27-30 while standout freshman Ed Bird will run in the 1500 meters at the United Kingdom Olympic Trials June 29-30.

Live results for the U.S. Olympic Trials can be found here, and the event will be broadcast on NBC’s family of networks.

Below is a list of all UKTF student-athletes, alumni, and volunteer coaches competing in the meet along with the events they qualified for.
