Kentucky STUNT Beats UTM, Advances to National Title Game
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky STUNT team advanced to the championship game of the 2024 Division I STUNT national tournament on Sunday, beating UT Martin 23-2 at the Clive M. Beck Center at Transylvania University.
Kentucky (19-7) will play for the national championship at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday. The Cats will face three-time defending national champion California Baptist in the title game.
In Sunday’s win over UT Martin, Kentucky started off strong in the first quarter, partner stunts, by winning all four points while holding the Skyhawks scoreless. UK held a 4-0 lead after one period.
In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, Kentucky won the first two points before the teams tied on the third routine. The Cats would take the final point of the quarter and UK led 8-1 at the half.
Kentucky continued to roll in the third quarter, jumps and tumbling. The Cats took all four points while again holding the Skyhawks scoreless. UK had a commanding 12-1 lead through three periods.
In the fourth quarter, team routine, UK put the game away. The Cats won the first six points of the quarter and won 11 points overall, while the Skyhawks were only able to score one.
