Kentucky STUNT Wins Twice on Friday

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Kentucky STUNT team swept a pair of games on Friday in “The Joust”, a STUNT Tournament held at California Baptist University. Kentucky beat Cal Poly 18-12 in game one, then topped Arizona State 23-2 in game two.

Kentucky (15-5) started off the first quarter against Cal Poly, partner stunts, by winning the first point. The teams tied the second routine before Cal Poly won the third point. UK would claim the final point and took a 3-2 lead after one quarter.

The Cats were able to extend the lead in the second quarter, pyramids and tosses. Kentucky took all four points in the quarter and held Cal Poly to just two. UK would lead 7-4 at halftime.

In the third quarter, jumps and tumbling, Cal Poly was able to chip away at the UK lead. The Mustangs earned three points in the quarter, while Kentucky was only able to manage two. Still, UK held a 9-7 lead with one period remaining.

In the fourth quarter, team routine, Kentucky put the game away. The Cats took the first three points of the period and would win nine points total in the stanza, while holding Cal Poly to just six.

In the first quarter, the Cats took all four points while shutting out the Sun Devils. UK led 4-0 after one period.

Kentucky built its lead in the second quarter, pyramids and tosses. The Cats won all four points while again holding Arizona State without a point. UK held a commanding 8-0 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, jumps and tumbling, Kentucky won the first three points and the teams tied on the final routine. UK led 12-1 heading into the final quarter.

Kentucky sealed the victory in the final period, team routine. The Cats scored 11 points in the final stanza compared to just one for the Sun Devils
