Kentucky STUNT Falls to No. 1 California Baptist on Saturday
NASHVILLE – The Kentucky STUNT saw its six-game winning streak come to an end as the Cats lost to top-ranked California Baptist 23-5 on Saturday in the Music City Classic.
Kentucky (11-5) started off the first quarter, partner stunts, by falling behind after the first two routines. UK was able to earn a tie on the third routine but Cal Baptist led 4-1 after one quarter.
In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, CBU was able to earn points on the first three routines before the teams tied on the final routine of the period. The Lancers held an 8-2 lead at the half.
The third quarter, jumps and tumbling, Kentucky was unable to score a point while CBU posted four. The Lancers led 12-2 heading into the final stanza.
In the fourth quarter, team routine, Kentucky was able to make up a little ground. The Cats earned three points in the period, but California Baptist was able to notch 11 and seal the win.
UK will next play on Wednesday, facing a doubleheader in California. UK will take on Vanguard at 9 p.m. ET, followed by a game against Concordia-Irvine at 11 p.m. ET.
