Kentucky STUNT Falls to Oklahoma Baptist on Friday

DALLAS – The Kentucky STUNT team fell to Oklahoma Baptist 16-12 on Friday in the Cats’ second game of the Dallas Baptist Classic.

Oklahoma Baptist, ranked second in the nation in the Division II STUNT poll, got off to an early lead in the partner stunts. OBU won the first point and the second point was tied. The Bison won the final two points of the quarter and led 4-1 after one quarter.

In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, Kentucky won the first point before OBU won the second. UK would win the third point and OBU the fourth, and the Bison took a 6-3 lead at the half.

OBU would expand its lead in the third quarter, jumps and tumbling, by claiming three points to two for Kentucky. The Bison led 9-5 with one quarter remaining.

In the final period, team routines, OBU scored two points to Kentucky’s one on the first routine. The Cats would score two, to OBU’s one, on the second routine. The Cats got a little closer by winning two of three points on the third routine. But on the final routine, OBU earned three points to two for UK.

Earlier on Friday, the Cats beat Texas 21-4.

Kentucky (2-2) plays two more games in the Dallas Baptist Classic on Saturday. The Cats face Oklahoma State at 12:45 p.m. ET, followed by a game against Central Arkansas at 2 p.m. ET. The games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference website, which has an associated fee to watch the games.
