Kentucky Swimming & Diving Prepares for Winter Nationals Competition
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky swimming & diving will send select representatives to both the USA Diving Winter National Championships and the Toyota U.S. Open beginning this week.
Abby Devereaux, Kristy Pfaff, Claire McDaniels, Jodi Cobb, Sam Duncan and Gavin Hang will represent Kentucky diving at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn. The national meet, which serves as a qualifier for the 2024 World Aquatics Championships, spans from Nov. 28 – Dec. 6.
In addition to the six current Wildcats competing, UK diving alum, Kyndal Knight, as well as 2024 Kentucky signee, Avery Giese, are also slated to participate.
Competition will begin with qualifying, Nov. 28-30, while finals will stretch Nov. 29-Dec. 6. Tickets are available for purchase for fans who wish to attend. The action will also be live streamed on the USA Diving YouTube channel.

Nov. 28 – Women’s 3-Meter Qualifier (Devereaux, Pfaff), Men’s 1-Meter Qualifier (Hang)
Nov. 29 – Women’s Platform Qualifier (McDaniels), Men’s 3-Meter Qualifier (Hang)
Nov. 30 – Women’s 1-Meter Qualifier (Devereaux, Cobb, Pfaff)
Dec. 2 – Men’s 1-Meter (Duncan)
Dec. 3 – Men’s 3-Meter Prelim (Duncan), Women’s Platform Prelim (Devereaux)
On the swimming side, Max Berg, Carson Hick, Libby Grether and Olivia Mendenhall will head to Greensboro, N.C. to race at the Toyota U.S. Open, Nov. 29 – Dec. 2 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The four athletes combine for 12 entries on the pre-scratch psych sheet.
This event has been approved by World Aquatics as a qualifying event for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Prelims will begin each day at 9 a.m. followed by finals at 6 p.m. Tickets for individual sessions are available on site. The 2023 Toyota U.S. Open Championships will be broadcast on NBC networks.
