Kentucky Faces Austin Peay at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym at Georgetown College

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program will play host to Austin Peay on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. ET at the Davis-Reid Alumni Gym on the campus of Georgetown College. The Voice of the Wildcats, Darren Headrick, will have the call on UK Sports Network and SEC Network+.

Kentucky is 2-0 to begin the season, defeating East Tennessee State, 74-66, last Tuesday, followed by thumping USC Upstate, 82-54, last Saturday.

The Wildcats will play in five different arenas to begin 2023-24, as the season opener was hosted at the Clive M. Beck Center on the campus of Transylvania University and the second game was hosted at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center. The Wildcats will play the Governors at the Davis-Reid Alumni Gym tomorrow, their last home game until Nov. 30, before playing at Florida Gulf Coast on Nov. 19 and then playing three games in the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands from Nov. 23-25.

The change in scenery hasn’t affected the program so far, mounting a nine-point comeback against ETSU, who was picked to finish first in the Southern Conference in 2023-24, followed by scoring 80-plus points in the win against USC Upstate. In each of those games, Kentucky has had five players score in double digits, while a combined seven players have scored at least 10 points in a game in 2023-24.

UK is coming off a performance where it scored 58 points in the paint against USC Upstate, the most points in the paint in the Kyra Elzy era. Meanwhile, it is holding true to its defensive branding, forcing 11.0 turnovers per game in its first two games, which ranks first in the Southeastern Conference.

The Wildcats are in their 50th season of varsity basketball, which began in 1974-75 under Sue Feamster. Throughout the season, regardless of location, the program will acknowledge and honor the impressive people and the memorable moments that influenced its rich history.

Big Blue Nation is encouraged to stay up to date with the nonconference schedule promotions and game themes. For the Kentucky-Austin Peay game, the promotions and game themes are as follows:

  • Tie-dye scrunchie giveaway for the first 250 fans
