Record-Breaking Four Kentucky Women’s Basketball Players Selected in the 2026 WNBA Draft

NEW YORK CITY – Four University of Kentucky women’s basketball players heard their name called in the 2026 WNBA Draft and will embark on a lifelong dream of playing professional basketball.

Teonni Key, a 6-5 forward from Cary, North Carolina, was chosen in the second round as the 22nd overall pick to the Toronto Tempo. Tonie Morgan, a 5-9 point guard out of Tallahassee, Florida, heard her name called in the third round as the 32nd overall pick to Chicago Sky, while Amelia Hassett, a 6-4 forward from Albury, New South Wales, Australia, also was selected in the third round as the 35th overall pick to the LA Sparks. Jordan Obi, a 6-1 guard/forward from Hartford, Connecticut, also was chosen in the third round as the 44th overall pick to the Las Vegas Aces.

The Wildcats’ four selections are the most in a single draft in program history, breaking the previous record of two picks in 2017.

The four selections make 12 total draft picks in program history, while five of those 12 have come in just the last two seasons under head coach Kenny Brooks.

Brooks has now produced 13 draft picks in his career, adding to a list that includes Georgia Amoore, Liz Kitley, Tamera Young, Lauren Okafor, Jazmon Gwathmey, Regan Magarity, Aisha Sheppard, Kayana Traylor and Taylor Soule.

Only UK and UCLA (6) had as many as four selections in this year’s draft.
