Kentucky Plays Host to USC Upstate on Veterans Day in Rupp Arena

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program will play host to USC Upstate on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. ET at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center. The Voice of the Wildcats, Darren Headrick, will have the call on UK Sports Network and SEC Network+.

Kentucky is 1-0 to begin 2023-24, following a gutsy nine-point comeback win in its season opener against ETSU last Tuesday. The Wildcats earned the triumph, 74-66, at the Clive M. Beck Center on the campus of Transylvania University. For the first time since 2016, all members of the starting five scored in double digits, including leading-scorer Amiya Jenkins (16). Also scoring in double digits was Saniah Tyler (14), Maddie Scherr (14), Ajae Petty (12) and Brooklynn Miles (10).

Jenkins, Tyler and Miles each made their first career starts in the win over ETSU.

The Wildcats trailed by as many as nine points in the game and two points at halftime. It marked the first time the Cats have won a game after trailing at halftime since their history-making triumph over sixth-seeded Alabama in the second round of the 2023 Southeastern Conference Tournament on March 2, 2023.

UK’s comeback win against ETSU marked its 15th straight season-opening victory. It also marked UK’s first game and first win in the Clive M. Beck Center.

The Wildcats are in their 50th season of varsity basketball, which began in 1974-75 under Sue Feamster. Throughout the season, regardless of location, the program will acknowledge and honor the impressive people and the memorable moments that influenced its rich history.

Big Blue Nation is encouraged to stay up to date with the nonconference schedule promotions and game themes. For the Kentucky-USC Upstate game, the promotions and game themes are as follows:
