Day Two Results

STATESBORO, Georgia – The Kentucky men’s golf team is in third place after the completion of 36 holes of the Schenkel Invitational on Saturday at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Georgia. Host Georgia Southern leads the tournament at 23-under, followed by Mississippi State at 14-under, Kentucky at 5-under and Middle Tennessee at 4-under.

Kentucky tees off in final-round play at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Senior Alex Goff is in a tie for second place at 5-under for the tournament after a bogey-free 3-under 69 in the second round while graduate Garrett Wood is a shot back in a tie for fourth, carding six birdies on his way to a 1-under 71 on Saturday. Goff notched his team-best 13th round of par-or-better this season and seventh in his last eight rounds while Wood posted his eighth round of par-or-better on the year.

Freshman Kevin Watts used three birdies to card a 1-under 71 in the second round and is tied for 13th, looking for his second-career top 20 finish on Sunday. Junior Campbell Kremer, in a tie for 48th and graduate Dhaivat Pandya, tied for 69th, round out the Wildcat lineup.

Playing as an individual, senior Jackson LaLonde sits in a tie for 75th.

As a team, Kentucky sits third in the 14-team field in par-3 scoring at even-par and tied for second with 36 birdies. Individually, Goff is tied for best in the field in par-3 scoring at 3-under while Wood is tied for the best in par-5 scoring at 6-under.
