LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following a three-match home stretch which included the nonconference finale, the No. 52 Kentucky women’s tennis program hits the road to continue Southeastern Conference play. The team will first head to Baton Rouge to face LSU at the LSU Tennis Complex before traveling to the Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station to take on No. 12 Texas A&M.

The Wildcats will go head-to-head with the Tigers on Friday, March 18 before playing the Aggies on Sunday, March 20. First serve versus both opponents is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET.

Kentucky, which owns a 12-5 overall record and 0-4 mark in SEC action, is seeking its first conference win of the season. The Wildcats fell to Missouri and No. 65 Arkansas this past weekend at home before picking up a win against Bellarmine.

In total, UK has won 12 out of the 17 opening points for a 26-13 ledger in doubles, also sporting a 46-37 singles record. Florencia Urrutia paces the team with an 13-1 mark in singles action while Carlota Molina is currently the 108th-ranked singles player. Additionally, the tandem of Urrutia and Fiona Arrese have a team-leading 7-3 records in doubles.

LSU enters Friday’s contest with a 2-7 overall and 1-3 SEC mark on the year, most recently coming off its first conference victory over Mississippi State. It was a close match the last time the two teams faced one another in 2021, with the Tigers taking a 4-3 win. LSU holds a narrow 21-19 lead over UK in the all-time series.

Kentucky will look to extend its 14-7 series record versus 12th-ranked Texas A&M, who own an 18-1 record so far in the 2021-22 campaign and are undefeated through the first four SEC matches. The Wildcats topped the Aggies in Lexington a season ago in a 4-2 decision.
