Kentucky Hosts Mizzou on Saturday Afternoon in Memorial
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Gymnastics team will host its first meet inside Memorial Coliseum on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET against the Missouri Tigers.
The meet will be broadcasted live on the SEC Network with John Roethlisberger and Alicia Quinn on the call. Tickets are available for purchase at UKathletics.com/tickets or by purchasing tickets at the gate on Saturday.
Free pizza is available to all UK students who arrive showing their UKID while supplies last.
Parking for the meet is available in the surrounding lots of Memorial Coliseum for free including the Joe Craft Center, Alumni Building, Student Center and downtown lots off of Lexington Avenue. Gates to the competition will open at 3 p.m. ET, 60 minutes prior to the first vault.
Kentucky as the home team will be using the Olympic rotation of vault, bars, beam and floor in sequential order Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats have scored above a 196 in back-to-back meets to kick off the season with UK hoisting a 196.275 last weekend against Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Junior Raena Worley was named the Southeastern Conference’s Gymnast of the Week for the second-straight week Tuesday afternoon after posting a 39.600 in the all-around Friday evening in Alabama. Worley had a 9.9 or higher on three of the four events she competed in.
Missouri is 5-0 on the season with wins in its first two meets of the season over multiple teams. Friday night marks the Tigers’ SEC opener looking to top their season-high score of 196.850.
