No. 8 Kentucky to Host Lipscomb in Midweek Matchup
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Wildcats, accompanied by a fresh No. 8 ranking in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25, are set to host Lipscomb on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET at Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex.
The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Dave “Buzz” Baker on the call.
Kentucky enters the midweek non-conference matchup with an undefeated 7-0-2 (1-0-2 Conference USA) record. The Wildcats earned their first league win last Sunday with a decisive 3-0 win over UAB in their return from a two-match road streak.
Lipscomb comes into Wednesday with a 6-2-2 (2-1 ASUN Conference) record, unranked for the last two weeks after peaking at No. 18. The Bisons defeated ASUN foe Liberty 3-2 last Saturday, halting a two-game losing skid.
Lipscomb’s latest visit to Lexington will mark the fourth in school history, as well as the fifth overall meeting between the two programs since 2016. The sides most recently met twice in 2018, with Kentucky following a 3-2 overtime win in Nashville, Tennessee, during the regular season with a 2-1 win at home in the third round of the NCAA Championship. The Cats lead the all-time series 2-1-1.
