Wildcats to Return Home, Resume C-USA Play Against UAB

LEXINGTON, Ky. – After a two-game stretch away from home, No. 10 Kentucky is set to return to Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex for a Conference USA matchup against UAB on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET, live on ESPN+.

The undefeated Wildcats enter the weekend seeking their first conference win at 6-0-2 (0-0-2 C-USA), while the Blazers look to right a two-match losing skid at 2-6 (0-1 C-USA). Kentucky defeated Dayton 3-1 last Wednesday, led by goals from Lucca Rodrigues, Luke Andrews and Ben Damge. Sophomore midfielder Enzo Mauriz recorded two assists in the Wildcats’ second road win of the season.

UAB opened the season with a 5-1 loss to that same Dayton squad on Aug. 27, most recently falling 3-1 to Georgia State last Tuesday. After Kentucky defeated the Blazers 2-0 in a non-conference battle at home in the fall of 2020, UAB earned its first win over UK since 2016 with a 1-0 overtime victory that counted toward 2020 C-USA standings in Birmingham, Alabama, last spring.

Andrews and junior forward Eythor Bjorgolfsson lead Kentucky with three goals and one assist apiece, while eight different Cats have found the back of the net this season.
