First Road Trip: Kentucky Travels to Missouri, No. 23 Arkansas
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team is primed for its first road trip of the season, as it sets toward Columbia, Missouri, to meet Mizzou on Friday at 1 p.m. ET and Fayetteville, Arkansas, to face the No. 23 Razorbacks on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The Wildcats will face their third ranked opponent in less than two weeks when they meet Arkansas.

Kentucky is 9-2 this season and 1-2 in the league after falling to No. 23 LSU, 4-3, and No. 21 Auburn, 4-2.
Akvile Paražinskaite leads the team with a 11-0 record on the No. 1 singles court and an 8-0 record on the No. 1 doubles court, paired with rookie Fiona Arrese. Meanwhile, Paražinskaite has four ranked wins total – two in singles and two in doubles – to start the season. Just last weekend, she defeated No. 62 Selin Ovunc of No. 21 Auburn in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
The graduate student currently has the best winning streak both in singles and in doubles of any player in the Southeastern Conference this spring.
Carlota Molina compliments her efforts in the singles competition, boasting a 9-1 record on the No. 2 singles court. Molina put together a pair of resilient performances in her first full weekend of conference action this season, earning a couple of come-from-behind triumphs on the No. 2 singles court. Last Friday, the sophomore defeated Sasha Gorchanyuk of Alabama in a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 decision, earning Kentucky’s fourth point against the Crimson Tide to clinch the dual match. Two days later, she defeated Yu Chen of No. 21 Auburn in a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 decision.
Overall, Kentucky boasts a 21-4 record in doubles and a 51-12 record on the singles courts thus far this season.
Missouri is 13-5 this season, including 1-2 in the league, after falling at home to Ole Miss (4-0) and then-No. 24 Arkansas (4-2). No. 23 Arkansas is 9-0 this season, including 3-0 in the league, collecting triumphs over Ole Miss (4-3), Mississippi State (4-0) and Missouri (4-2). The Wildcats lead the all-time series with the Tigers, 7-0, and the Razorback, 22-9.
