Kentucky Women’s Soccer Visits Missouri For Final Road Game
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Just a week after playing a top 15 team in the nation to a draw for the second time this season, the University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will compete in its final road game of the season on November 1, to face Missouri at 1 p.m. ET in Columbia, Missouri. The contest will be carried on SEC Network, with Jon Yardley and Lori Lindsey on the call.
The Tigers have implemented a reduced attendance plan, which includes a limited 20 percent capacity. Fans are encouraged to follow all the action through live scoring or tune into SEC Network.
The Wildcats own a 0-3-3 record after going unbeaten for three straight games, logging a pair of ties at home to then-No. 8 Georgia and Tennessee, then playing No. 14 Auburn to a draw on the road last weekend.
In their latest appearance in Auburn, Alabama, the group competed for more than 100 minutes with just nine field players and Brooke Littman in goal, after freshman Marie Olesen was delivered a straight red in just the ninth minute of the contest. Even under the unfortunate circumstance, Kentucky’s backline held the Tigers scoreless for more than 45 minutes and scored a goal in the 89th minute to play the 14th-ranked team in the nation to a 1-1 draw, meanwhile earning its third point of the season.
Kentucky has competed with the same starting lineup for three straight games, even while navigating the boundaries of an undermanned roster during these uncertain times. However, Olesen will be forced to sit out this game because of her ejection in the previous contest, so fans should expect an adjustment to the starting 11.
Jordyn Rhodes has competed in every game this season, leading Kentucky with four goals and 12 career goals. She is tied for first in the Southeastern Conference with four goals, with Texas A&M’s Addie McCain, and she is tied for sixth in the conference with 18 shots, while aiming 50 percent of those shots on frame.
Brooke Littman also has earned conference nods, leading the league in saves for six straight weeks with 37. The redshirt senior has allowed just one goal in her last four appearances, averaging seven saves per game.
The Tigers are 1-2-2 this season, earning their only win against then-No. 13 Vanderbilt in week two. Mizzou is currently on a two-match unbeaten streak, earning a pair of 1-1 draws to LSU and at Mississippi State.
Missouri leads the all-time series with Kentucky, 8-2-1, with the Tigers winning eight of the last nine match ups. However, Kentucky defeated Missouri last season in its only conference win of the season. The Wildcats haven’t won in Columbia since 2004.
