Kentucky Men’s, Women’s Swimming & Diving Teams Named Scholar All-America Teams
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association has named the University of Kentucky men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams to the distinguished list of 2020 Scholar All-America teams for the spring semester.
A record 789 teams from 461 institutions were named to the list of teams achieving a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for the spring semester, highlighted by Kentucky men’s and women’s GPAs of 3.715 and 3.874, respectively. The honor comes just two months after the women’s team earned its third straight Academic Team of the Year award at the 18th annual CATSPY Awards in April.
Additional institutional adjustments to grading systems resulted in GPAs nearly one-quarter letter grade higher than previously, according to the CSCAA. As a result, the coaches association did not publish team GPAs. This semester’s list also does not include teams at institutions that switched entirely to pass/fail grading.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation’s first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
The CSCAA will announce its individual Scholar All-Americans next week.
