From Mitch: An Update on UK Football, Season Tickets
UK Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart sent the following message to football season ticket holders on Tuesday ahead of Friday’s renewal due date.
Just as it has been for all of us, life has been full of adjustments for everyone in the Kentucky football program over the last two months. But as we navigate these unprecedented times, we continue to be proud of the program we are building and the student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans who are part of it.
Our student-athletes, like all students at UK, have shifted to exclusively online classes and more independent strength and conditioning and skill development. The discipline and hard work they have shown is a testament to their character. Our coaches and staff, meanwhile, have lived out our mission of putting student-athletes first in all we do. They have focused on the health and well-being of our student-athletes at every turn, setting them up for success and providing first-rate coaching now that rules permit virtual instruction. As an administration, we are planning for football in the fall and focusing on taking the necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.
That brings us to the final piece of the UK football puzzle: you. The Big Blue Nation. The best fans in America.
We recognize that these are challenging times for all of you. That’s why we have shifted our focus since the onset of this crisis to connect with you and let you know that we are there for you. Those conversations have uplifted us and reminded us how special our fans are.
As a reminder, Friday, May 1 is our season ticket renewal due date, extended three weeks from our original due date in light of this crisis. As we have said to many of you in personal conversations, we are committed to making all possible accommodations to assist with payment flexibility for those who may need additional time to renew. In addition to our 3-month payment plan option, we’re also introducing a monthly payment plan that will begin in May and end in August and will include mobile delivery of tickets. These options will appear in your online account when renewing your seats. To learn more and to discuss how we can assist you, please reach out to us at (800) 928-2287 or UKTickets@uky.edu. We also recognize the uncertainty created by the COVID-19 pandemic. As I said, we are preparing for football in the fall. However, please know that we will be prepared to adjust should things change.
What we want to leave you with is simple: thank you. Thank you for the support that has made possible the growth of this program. Thank you for your patience and flexibility in the midst of challenging times. Thank you for sharing our vision of what Kentucky football can become. Most of all, thank you for making the University of Kentucky the incredible place that it is.
If you have any questions or even if you just want to chat, please contact us at (800) 928-2287 or UKTickets@uky.edu. You may also reach our K Fund staff at (859) 257-6300 or KFund@uky.edu.
