Five Swimmers Invited to 2020 NCAA Men’s Championships

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Five senior swimmers will represent Kentucky at the 2020 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships, it was announced by the committee Wednesday. Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis will host the national meet March 25-28 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The five Wildcats were invited to the NCAA Championships because they met established time standards by swimming in events throughout the season. Two of the five Wildcats who qualified for the championships were selected as competitors in the 2019 meet a year ago, Wyatt Amdor and Glen Brown.

The men’s team earned two spots in last season’s NCAA Championships, while the overall team consisted of four athletes – two individual swimmers, two divers.

Kentucky will look to increase its traveling roster this season after the Zone C Diving Championships March 12-14 inside the Lancaster Aquatic Center. Following the dive meet, the complete men’s and women’s NCAA teams, including divers, will be announced.

Last season, the UK men’s team finished 25th with 26 points at the 2019 NCAA Championships, its best team finish at the national meet since earning 22nd in 2013.

Kentucky’s NCAA qualifying swimmers and events are as follows:

100 BR

Connor Blandford
400 IM
