LEXINGTON, Ky. – Three weeks before the Southeastern Conference Championships, the University of Kentucky men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host Cincinnati for its last dual meet of the season and senior day. Hosted at the Lancaster Aquatic Center on Friday, Jan. 31, the meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET, while fans are encouraged to attend the senior day celebration set to begin at 3:40 p.m.

Fifteen swimmers and divers are graduating from the program at the end of the semester, including eight women (six swimmers, two divers) and seven men (seven swimmers).

“The coaching staff and I couldn’t be prouder of our graduates,” said head coach Lars Jorgensen. “To have 15 dedicated athletes train and compete for four years, then graduate, is an awesome accomplishment. I couldn’t be more grateful for their commitment to our program and this university.”

The women’s program is graduating Emma Dellmore, Ali Galyer, Morgan Lakes, Sarah Loheide, Caroline McCleary, Lizzy Merriman, Alex Nelson and Asia Seidt. The men’s program is graduating Wyatt Amdor, Connor Blandford, Glen Brown, Jason Head, John Mitchell, Alex Taylor and Peter Wetzlar.

Eight swimmers in the graduating group hold at least one school record, while the decorated class combines for a remarkable 28 All-America honors.

Following the senior day programming, Cincinnati and Kentucky will compete across 32 events, including four springboard diving events and 28 swimming events. The meet marks a final opportunity for athletes to earn top scores and times before the coaching staff selects the 22 athletes (19 swimmers, three divers) per team that will represent Kentucky at the league meet, February 18-22 in Auburn, Alabama.

Cincinnati has recorded a near flawless season, as the men’s team boasts a 6-1 record and the women’s team owns a 5-2 record. The Bearcats collected a pair of losses in their most recent outing, falling at No. 21/17 Northwestern on Jan. 24.
