LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will host Miami (Ohio) and Cincinnati at 11 a.m. ad 5 p.m. ET, respectively, on Tuesday, Jan. 21. It’ll mark the second and last doubleheader hosted at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center this season and will feature free attendance for all fans.

Free parking options include the three small E-lots adjacent to the facility one hour prior to first serve. Spectators may also pay to park in the Sports Center Garage (PS No. 7) on the corner of Complex Drive and Sport Center Drive. The cost of parking is $2 per hour, with a $16 per exit maximum.

Live scoring will be available here.

Kentucky is 3-0 to begin its season, boasting a 2-0 record at home. Five players hold a perfect mark in singles action, as sophomore Carla Girbau and senior Anastasia Tkachenko lead the way with three singles triumphs each. UK has posted a 14-4 mark (.778) in singles action as a team this season.

Even more impressive, Kentucky hasn’t dropped a dual match since the start of the season forming a 6-0 combined mark in the class. The 21st-best doubles team in the nation in Lesedi Jacobs and Akvile Paražinskaite took the court for the first time this year last Friday, holding its opponents to just two games. The tandem is 11-1 including fall and spring sessions.

Kentucky head coach Carlos Drada is nearing his 200th win leading the program. Entering his 15th season as head coach of the women’s tennis program, Drada holds a 199-169 record (.541) against his opponents. If accomplished, Drada would become the first UK women’s tennis coach to reach 200 victories.

The Wildcats have a 21-2 edge over Miami (Ohio) in the all-time series and a perfect 9-0 mark against Cincinnati in dual action.

Kentucky has already met Miami (Ohio) twice in the preseason, competing at the Ohio Valley Regional Championships and the second annual Kentucky Invite. The RedHawks have put together a 1-1 record to begin the season, defeating Florida Gulf Coast, 6-1, and dropping to Liberty, 1-6. Miami (Ohio) boasts an entirely veteran lineup featuring six juniors and two sophomores.

Cincinnati brings a 2-0 record to Lexington, sweeping Army, 7-0, and defeating Akron, 5-2, in matches last week. Senior Anna Philp of Burlington, Ontario, remains the solo Bearcat undefeated in both singles and doubles. The upperclassman is 2-0 in the No. 5 singles slot and 2-0 in the No. 3 doubles slot, paired with Keli Niehaus.
