Kentucky Track & Field Wins Six Events on Day One of Jim Green Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – It was a solid showing for Kentucky on the first day of the Jim Green Invitational as the team won six events and clinched spots in the semifinals in both the men’s and women’s 60-meter dash and 60m hurdles.
 
Freshman Langston Jackson had an impressive day as he won the first round of the men’s 60m dash with a time of 6.63, a time that is good for third in school history and currently the fastest time in the NCAA this season.
 
Jackson’s 20.84 in the men’s 200m dash also leads the NCAA early on in the year. 
 
The Wildcats will get back underway tomorrow with events beginning at 11 a.m.
 
UK Event Winners
Trey Causey III won the men’s high jump with a 7-1.75 (2.18m) mark.
 
Nicole Bagby won the pole vault with a mark of 12-11.50 (3.95m), which was also good enough for third in school history and a personal best for Bagby.
 
The men’s distance medley relay (DMR) team of Matthew Thomas, Jacob Smith, Max LeClair and Trevor Warren won with a time of 9:59.47. The team competed in a relay of the 1200m, 400m, 800m and the 1600m.
 
Charles Lenford Jr. won the men’s weight throw with a 65-3.25 (19.89m). 
 
Celera Barnes won the women’s 200m with a time of 23.61.
 
Langston Jackson won the men’s 200m with a time of 20.84.
