  • Kentucky is 4-5, 2-5 in the Southeastern Conference.  Tennessee is 5-5, 3-3 in the league.
  • Tennessee leads the series, 81-25-9.
  • Next for Kentucky: the Wildcats have their final road game of the season Saturday, Nov. 16, at Vanderbilt.  Game time is 3:30 p.m. ET (2:30 p.m. CT in Nashville) and will be televised on the SEC Network.

  • Kentucky took the opening kickoff and drove 75 yards in 17 plays, taking 10:18 off the clock for the touchdown.
    • It was UK’s most plays and time of possession on a scoring drive during the Mark Stoops era.
  • On the ensuing possession, Josh Paschal blocked a punt. UK’s previous blocked punt also was by Paschal, occurring in 2017 vs. Eastern Michigan.
    • UK took over on the Tennessee 24-yard line, setting up Kavosiey Smoke’s 22-yard TD run.
  • Kentucky’s 13 first quarter points was the most first quarter points in an SEC game since 2015 at South Carolina. 
  • Kentucky has allowed 34 points or less in 23 straight games, the longest active streak in the nation.
    • 23 straight games at 34 points or less is the longest for Kentucky since a 45-game streak from 1976-80.
  • Kentucky allowed 296 yards tonight, the fourth consecutive SEC game that UK has limited the opponent to 305 or fewer yards.
    • It is the first time since 1979 that UK has held four straight SEC opponents to 305 yards or fewer. 
  • Kentucky has allowed only a total of three points in the first half of the last three SEC games (at Georgia, Missouri, Tennessee), best since allowing a total of three points against three consecutive SEC opponents (Georgia, Vanderbilt, Florida) in 1988.
  • Kentucky gave up two touchdown passes tonight.  UK entered the game tied for first among FBS teams with the fewest touchdown passes allowed, four.
  • Tennessee’s longest pass play tonight was 34 yards. UK entered the game tied for fourth among FBS teams of fewest pass plays of 40 yards allowed (one this season).     
  • UK had 41:37 time of possession tonight, most in a game since at least 1987.

  • UK’s game captains: OG Logan Stenberg, LB Kash Daniel, LB Josh Paschal and athlete Lynn Bowden Jr.
  • Junior athlete Lynn Bowden Jr. rushed 26 times for 114 yards.
    • This was his third 100-yard rushing game, also 196 vs. Arkansas and 204 vs. Missouri.  It’s the most 100-yard rushing games by a UK quarterback in a four-game stretch since Mike Fanuzzi had three in a four-game stretch in 1974.
    • This was first time a UK quarterback had 100-yard rushing games vs. back-to-back SEC opponents.
    • Has rushed for 613 yards in the last four games, most for a UK player over a four-game span since Moe Williams in the final four games of the 1995 season (715 yards).
  • Redshirt freshman running back Chris Rodriguez rushed 12 times for a career-high 81 yards.
  • Redshirt freshman running back Kavosiey Smoke ran five times for 58 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown.
  • Junior running back A.J. Rose rushed 16 times for 44 yards and one touchdown.
    • Rose became the 37th player in school history to reach 1,000 rushing yards in a career.  He now has 1,031 career yards. 
  • Senior safety Jordan Griffin led the Wildcats in tackles with four stops.
  • Senior defensive lineman Calvin Taylor had three tackles and caused a fumble on a sack.
  • Redshirt freshman tight end Keaton Upshaw made his first collegiate start.
