No. 15 Kentucky to Host Wright State in Final Nonconference Tilt
LEXINGTON, Ky. – No. 15 Kentucky (9-2-3, 3-1-1 Conference USA) is set to finish off its nonconference slate versus Wright State (7-5-2, 3-3 Horizon League) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET at Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex.
The Wildcats have not lost a nonconference contest at home in six matches this season. The Raiders enter Wednesday with a 2-2-1 mark in out-of-league play on the road.
Kentucky is led in scoring on the season by six goals from Daniel Evans, who was named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week last Monday. The sophomore forward scored two goals versus South Carolina in a 4-0 win for the Cats the prior afternoon.
Kentucky’s victory over the Gamecocks marked a seventh overall shutout for goalkeeper Enrique Facusse and the UK defense. The seven clean sheets tie No. 18 Charlotte for the most in C-USA, despite Kentucky having played one fewer game than the 49ers.
Wright State enters Wednesday fresh off a 2-1 win at Cleveland State last Saturday. The triumph followed a 2-2 tie with C-USA foe and then-No. 15 Marshall on Oct. 22 in Dayton, Ohio.
The last meeting between the Cats and Raiders resulted in a 2-1 win for Kentucky on Sept. 4, 2015 in Lexington.
