Matthew Mitchell to Play Pregame Concert Saturday
LEXINGTON, Ky. – A couple weeks removed from another hit performance at Big Blue Madness, Kentucky women’s basketball coach Matthew Mitchell will play a full concert outside Kroger Field this weekend.
Matthew Mitchell and the Nashville All-Stars will take the stage outside Gate 12 this Saturday before the Kentucky football team hosts Missouri. The concert will begin immediately following the Cat Walk presented by Chevy, which will begin at approximately 5:15 p.m. Saturday’s pregame concert will be the first of the season at Kroger Field.
In addition to his exploits at Madness – most recently a performance of “Old Town Road” – Mitchell is a veteran of Kentucky football pregame concerts. In 2015, Mitchell was the front man for the opening act of the concert before the first game following the renovation of the longtime home of Kentucky football.
The winningest coach in Kentucky women’s basketball history, Mitchell is entering his 13th season with the Wildcats. UK won 25 games in 2018-19, including 11 in league play to finish fourth in the SEC. Mitchell, who was named the Co-SEC Coach of the Year last season, returns a lengthy list of players for this upcoming season, including three starters in unanimous national freshman of the year Rhyne Howard and juniors KeKe McKinney and Tatyana Wyatt.
Season tickets and single-game tickets are on sale now at UKathletics.com/tickets. Purchasing season tickets offers the best option and price savings for fans as the Wildcats are asking fans to join the Drive for 5K with a goal to sell 5,000 season tickets. New season ticket purchases are available in upper-level reserved chairbacks (sections AA-JJ), lower-level reserved bleachers (sections R-Z) or general admission bleachers (sections RR-ZZ) for $69 per ticket. Lower-level reserved chairbacks (A-J) sections are sold out again this season. Single-game tickets are $10 (all ages) in reserved seating areas, while general admission tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children (ages 6-18) and seniors (age 65+). Children aged 5 and under do not require a ticket in general admission areas.
Tickets for Saturday’s game against Missouri, which will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on the SEC Network, are available at Ticketmaster.com.
