LEXINGTON, Ky. – Behind their first loss to a Conference USA opponent and just their second defeat of the year last Sunday, the No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats (6-2-3, 1-1-1 C-USA) will kick off their penultimate nonconference tilt of the regular season versus the Ohio State Buckeyes (6-5-1, 1-2-1 Big Ten Conference) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET.

Kentucky is looking to pull ahead in the 5-5-4 all-time head-to-head series, having defeated Ohio State 1-0 in each of the last two seasons.

The Cats began the week with a 2-1 loss to FIU that was decided by a game winner from the visiting team in the match’s final two minutes. Kentucky outshot the Panthers 15-6, anchored by a fourth goal of the season from Daniel Evans in the 26th minute by way of Kalil ElMedkhar’s team-best fourth assist.

Following five straight shutouts, Sunday marked the end of Kentucky’s streak of 563 minutes without conceding a goal.

Ohio State comes to Lexington for its final test outside the Big Ten after losing 3-2 to Cleveland State last Saturday at home. Senior Jack Holland leads the Buckeyes with 13 points on the season via four goals and five assists, having attempted a team-high 25 shots and 13 tries on target.
